HSBC: Technology vs Mental Health

Talk About designed and delivered a bespoke session exploring mental health and technology alongside our partners HSBC as part of their Insight Day 2019.

We were joined by over 100 top students and graduates from across the country to have conversations that matter all thanks to our partners HSBC as part of their Insight Day 2019!

The topic for the afternoon was mental health vs technology so as you can imagine, there was plenty to talk about! From artificial intelligence and software all the way to workplace atmosphere and innovation as a force for maintaining good mental health; we made sure the floor was open. We were joined by Lil J. Bush (HSBC’s Mental Health Ambassador) who shared her inspiring story and how having the right workplace support has played a major role in her wellbeing journey.

In true Talk About style, we made sure to include breakout sessions run by young people too! The sessions helped the event attendees to talk to someone they normally would see as their ‘competition’ and comfortably articulate their ideas on things like the impact of social media on their mental health.

“The Insight day was accompanied by an interactive debate led by Talk About on how technology can either positively/negatively affect mental health. Not to mention, a mini mindfulness session which was very much needed! There was something useful for everyone to talk about and take home.” – Warwick University Student
